SmartAdvocate does not publish a price, so the only way to budget it honestly is to price a firm that does and make the SmartAdvocate quote beat that number in writing. Read on 26 September 2026, smartadvocate.com has no pricing page, and its own FAQ answers "How Much Does SmartAdvocate Cost?" by saying pricing is based on your firm's needs and sending you to a Business Development Specialist. The closest vendor that does print a price is CasePeer: $130 per user a month for the tier with intake, which is $15,600 a year for a ten person personal injury firm. That is the figure to put in front of the SmartAdvocate sales team.
SmartAdvocate details come from its FAQ, SmartIntelligence, AI tools and intake pages, read on 26 September 2026. CasePeer figures come from casepeer.com/pricing, read on 22 September 2026. Directory figures are labeled as directory figures. Where a vendor shows no number, we say so rather than estimate one.

How much does SmartAdvocate cost?
SmartAdvocate does not say. Its FAQ gives the question its own heading and then answers it with a phone number: pricing is based on your firm's needs, and a tailored quote comes from a Business Development Specialist at 1-877-GET-SMART. There is no tier table, no starting figure and no per user rate anywhere on the site, and the /pricing address itself returns a not found page.
What you can find is directory pricing. Capterra's SmartAdvocate page lists a starting price of $109 per user per month for the Cloud deployment, with no free trial and no free version. Other directory summaries we saw while researching this put the per user figure anywhere from $40 (for a firm with around 100 users) to $120. None of those numbers comes from the vendor, they do not agree with each other, and none says whether it covers SmartIntelligence, data migration or training. Treat them as the directory's estimate, not as a budget line.
What a SmartAdvocate quote will be built from
Because the vendor does not publish the formula, the best you can do is list the things its own pages show you are choosing between. Each one is a line to ask about on the demo call.
- Cloud or Server. SmartAdvocate Cloud is hosted by the vendor. SmartAdvocate Server is software you own and run on your own hardware, and the FAQ says backups and maintenance are then handled by you and your IT staff. That moves cost from the license to your server, your IT hours and your upgrade cycle.
- Number of users. Every directory figure is per user, so assume headcount drives the bill until the quote says otherwise.
- SmartIntelligence. The AI layer covers an Intake AI Voice Agent, an Intake Assistant Coach, demand letter drafting, medical chronologies and a settlement value assistant. The pages describe what each does, not whether it is included or sold on top.
- Data migration and training. SmartAdvocate has dedicated pages for data migration and training. Ask whether either carries a one time fee.
- Integrations. Outlook, EvenUp for demand packages and, since 17 March 2026, a native Lawmatics sync. Some of these are separate subscriptions from other vendors.
SmartAdvocate vs CasePeer pricing for a personal injury firm
CasePeer is the useful benchmark because it is personal injury case management with intake attached and it prints its price. Read on 22 September 2026, CasePeer charges $90 for Basic, $130 for Pro and $160 for Advanced, per user per month, with no long term contract and no setup fee. Client intake management, intake forms and lead tracking start on Pro, so $130 is the honest intake floor. Neos, from Assembly, sits in between: Neos pricing starts at $109 per user a month billed yearly for firms of three or more, and its higher tiers are quote only. We compare all three, and what each charges for automated intake, in our Neos alternative guide.
| Firm size | CasePeer Pro (published) | CasePeer Advanced (published) | SmartAdvocate at Capterra's $109 (directory figure) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 users | $390 a month, $4,680 a year | $480 a month, $5,760 a year | $327 a month, $3,924 a year |
| 5 users | $650 a month, $7,800 a year | $800 a month, $9,600 a year | $545 a month, $6,540 a year |
| 10 users | $1,300 a month, $15,600 a year | $1,600 a month, $19,200 a year | $1,090 a month, $13,080 a year |
| 20 users | $2,600 a month, $31,200 a year | $3,200 a month, $38,400 a year | $2,180 a month, $26,160 a year |
Read the right hand column carefully. It multiplies a directory figure that SmartAdvocate never published, for the Cloud version only, with no AI layer, migration or training priced in. It is there so you can see what the directories imply, not what you will pay. The two CasePeer columns are exact.
If you are comparing the two, the practical move is simple. Take the CasePeer column that matches your headcount and features, and ask SmartAdvocate for a written quote that includes everything you would actually switch on, SmartIntelligence included, over the same term. If it lands above the CasePeer figure, you now know what the extra depth in document assembly, mass tort handling and on premise hosting is costing you, and you can decide whether you use it.
Is SmartIntelligence included in SmartAdvocate pricing?
The vendor does not say. SmartIntelligence is presented as a natively integrated set of AI tools inside SmartAdvocate, and none of the pages we read says whether it is part of the base license or quoted as an add on. Ask for it as a separate line in the quote, so you can compare the intake piece on its own against a standalone intake tool.
That comparison is worth making because the intake piece is narrow. The Intake AI Voice Agent answers new case calls 24/7, collects details, creates a lead in SmartAdvocate, triggers automated follow up based on your protocols and escalates high value cases to a person when configured. Its pages do not describe it booking the consultation onto a calendar, and it works on the phone, not in a chat on your website. Your staff still pick the lead up and schedule it.
What if intake is the only problem you are trying to solve?
Plenty of firms price a new case management system because signed cases are slipping, then discover the case system was fine and the leak was at the front door. A web inquiry at 10 at night, a form nobody reads until Monday, a caller who hangs up after the second transfer. A new platform does not fix that on its own, and a six figure migration is an expensive way to find out.
Consultations does that one job. It runs the intake conversation on your website at any hour, asks the screening questions your firm defines (date of the incident, treatment so far, liability facts, insurance, whether another firm is already involved), checks the answers against your criteria, collects photos or a police report, and books the consultation onto your calendar. The attorney gets a structured brief, and the completed intake exports into SmartAdvocate or whichever case system you keep, where your Intake Wizard and its conflict check take over. You can compare the full field on our SmartAdvocate alternative comparison, which sets it against CasePeer, CloudLex, Jove, Lead Docket and Lawmatics.
Pricing is on the page, flat per firm and not per user: Solo is $49 a month for one attorney, Practice is $129 a month for up to five professionals with document collection and qualification rules per practice area, and Firm is $299 a month for up to twenty with voice intake and advanced integrations. Pay monthly with no annual term, or once a year at half the monthly price. For a five person firm, Practice is $768 a year, next to $7,800 for CasePeer Pro at the same headcount. They are not the same product, and that is the point: one runs your cases, the other makes sure the case reaches you.
Questions to ask on the SmartAdvocate demo
- What is the per user monthly price for Cloud, and what would Server cost us including hardware and maintenance?
- Is SmartIntelligence included? If not, what does the Intake AI Voice Agent cost on its own?
- Is there a one time fee for data migration, implementation or training?
- What is the contract term, and what happens to the price at renewal?
- Can the voice agent book a consultation, or does it only create the lead?
- How do web form and chat leads get into the Intake Wizard, and which intake services are already integrated?
Get every answer in the written quote. The same discipline applies to every quote only vendor in this category; our CloudLex vs CasePeer pricing breakdown walks through a vendor that goes further and states outright that directory prices are unauthorized estimates, and the full CasePeer pricing page covers what each CasePeer tier includes.
After the case is signed
Whichever case system you choose, the cost that follows intake is document work. A signed personal injury matter brings in medical bills, records requests and insurance correspondence by the hundreds of pages, and much of the paralegal time in year one goes to typing figures out of those files. If you are pricing that side of the practice as well, a tool that will extract data from scanned medical bills and records into structured fields is worth budgeting next to the case system itself, because it is the same hours either way.
The front door is the cheaper fix and the faster one. You can run the intake conversation at the top of this page right now and see exactly what a prospective client would see before you take a single demo.
