Neos Alternative for Personal Injury Firms and Neos Competitors Compared by Price
Firms start looking for a Neos alternative at one of three points: a Needles or Trialworks migration they were told is coming anyway, a demo where the intake automation they wanted turned out to sit on the tier with no price, or a two person practice that learned Neos is sold to firms of three users and up. This page sets out what Assembly actually publishes, read from its own pricing page on 30 September 2026, where Neos is still the right buy, what each realistic competitor costs, and when the problem costing you signed cases is solved by a much smaller product.

In short
Neos, the personal injury case management platform from Assembly Software, starts at $109 per user a month billed yearly and is built for firms with 3 or more users. Read on 30 September 2026, its automated intake (dynamic intake questionnaires, automated lead emails and texts, lead ROI dashboards) is included only on NeosAI Platinum, which has no printed price. The closest rival with every price on the page is CasePeer, at $90, $130 and $160 per user a month, with intake from $130. If the job you need done is screening and booking every new inquiry before another firm calls back, Consultations runs that intake conversation on your website from $49 a month, flat per firm.
Neos is a system of record for plaintiff firms: intake forms and an intake CRM, case management, treatment and lien tracking, documents, texting, dialer integrations and, on Platinum, NeosAI for generation, summarization and extraction. Consultations does one job at the front. It talks to the prospective client the moment they reach your website, asks your screening questions in plain conversation (date of the incident, treatment so far, liability, insurance, whether another firm is involved), checks the answers against your criteria, collects the documents the matter needs and books the consultation, then hands the attorney a structured brief. If you want one platform for every open file and have the headcount for a 60 to 90 day migration, Neos is built for that. If cases slip because nobody reached the lead in time, that part can be fixed this week without a platform decision.

|---|---|---|
| Published price | $49, $129 or $299 a month flat per firm, on the pricing page | $109 per user a month billed yearly on Essentials; Premium and Platinum say Get in touch |
| Minimum firm size | None. Solo covers one professional | Built for firms with 3 or more users; smaller firms are routed to other Assembly products |
| Automated intake | Included on every plan | Dynamic intake questionnaire, automated lead emails and texts marked Platinum only |
| Runs the intake conversation itself | Yes. An AI conversation screens every website inquiry at any hour | Intake forms and an intake CRM; staff work the lead |
| Books the consultation | Yes, inside the same conversation, onto your calendar | Not described on its pricing page |
| Case management | Not included. It hands off a brief and an export | Full case management, treatment, liens, documents, reporting |
| Setup | Self serve, no implementation fee, no data migration | CSM led migration, 60 to 90 days for most firms, fee not printed |

Why pros pick Consultations
One AI conversation that qualifies, intakes, books, and briefs
An AI conversation, not a form
Instead of a static form or a calendar link, our AI talks with each lead in plain language, qualifies them against your criteria, and asks for exactly what you need to know.
The whole front door in one place
Qualify, intake, collect documents, book the paid appointment, and produce a prepped brief, all in a single conversation, so you stop stitching tools together.
You walk in prepared
Every booked meeting comes with a clean brief of who is coming and why, so you only take the right consultations and you are ready before the call starts.
Why firms look for a Neos alternative
Very few firms leave Neos because the case management is thin. Assembly has built plaintiff software for decades through Needles and Trialworks, and Neos is the cloud successor to both: intake forms and an intake CRM, case and contact records, treatment and lien tracking, document assembly, expense tracking, reporting and dashboards on every tier. Premium adds OCR, PDF editing, Bates stamping, redaction and custom dashboards. Platinum adds NeosAI and a dedicated customer success manager.
The first practical reason is the tier structure. Read on 30 September 2026, the only number on assemblysoftware.com/pricing is Essentials at $109 per user a month billed yearly. Premium and Platinum both say Get in touch. The comparison table on the same page marks workflows and process automation, the dynamic intake questionnaire and automated lead emails and texts as Not Included on Essentials and Premium. So a firm shopping Neos specifically to automate intake is not comparing $109. It is comparing a Platinum quote it has not seen yet.
The second reason is size. The pricing FAQ says Neos is built for firms with 3 or more users, so a solo attorney or a two person practice cannot buy it. The third reason decides revenue: a case system only helps once the lead is inside it, and a prospective client who fills in a form at 10 at night signs with whichever firm answers first.
- Only Essentials shows a price: $109 per user a month, billed yearly
- Automated intake is marked Platinum only, and Platinum has no printed price
- Built for firms with 3 or more users
- Migration is CSM led and runs 60 to 90 days for most firms
- Directory figures of $139 and $189 per user are not on the vendor page
What Neos intake includes on each tier
Every Neos tier includes customizable intake forms, a customer relationship database and lead tracking. That covers capturing a lead and following it through the pipeline by hand. RingCentral and Zoom Phone integrations let staff call from inside the case, and Premium Texting is sold as an enhancement.
The automation is where the tiers split. On the comparison table, workflows and process automation, the dynamic intake questionnaire with required questions, automated lead emails and texts, SMS and email automation, and lead ROI dashboards all appear under Platinum only. Platinum also carries NeosAI, case cost recovery, advanced analytics and white glove implementation. Demands Plus, which builds medical chronologies and demand letters from the file, is in early access and requires Platinum.
Two things are not on the pricing page at all. Assembly does not describe the software itself holding the first conversation with a prospective client, and it does not describe booking a consultation onto an attorney calendar during intake. Ask both on the demo, and ask for the Platinum per user price and the migration fee as their own lines in the written quote.
- All tiers: intake forms, intake CRM, lead tracking
- All tiers: RingCentral and Zoom Phone dialer integrations
- Platinum only: dynamic intake questionnaire with required questions
- Platinum only: automated lead emails and texts, lead ROI dashboards
- Not described: the software screening and booking the lead itself
Where Neos is still the better buy
If your firm runs Needles or Trialworks today, Neos is the natural next step, because Assembly owns the migration path and its customer success manager handles data mapping, document conversion and training end to end. A firm with years of case history in Needles gets continuity that no other vendor can offer as directly.
It also fits a plaintiff firm with three or more people working files every day, where treatment tracking, liens, case costs and settlement all have to live in one place. Firms that want AI drafting inside the case file, rather than in a separate tool, get that on Platinum through NeosAI and, once it leaves early access, Demands Plus.
So this page does not argue that you should leave Neos. It argues that you should know which job you are paying it for, and whether the job losing you signed cases is a smaller one you can fix without a migration.
- Firms moving off Needles or Trialworks
- Plaintiff firms with 3 or more users working files daily
- Firms that want treatment, liens and case costs in one system
- Firms that want AI drafting inside the case file on Platinum
- Firms with the time for a 60 to 90 day migration
Neos competitors, by the job you are replacing
CasePeer is the closest like for like for a personal injury firm that wants a printed price. Read on 30 September 2026, it charges $90, $130 and $160 per user per month, and client intake management starts on Pro, so the honest intake floor is $130 per user. On a three person firm that is $390 a month against $327 for Neos Essentials billed yearly, but CasePeer Pro includes intake management and unlimited two way texting, which Neos sells as an enhancement or includes on Platinum.
Filevine is the configurable platform most often put next to Neos; read on 27 September 2026 it publishes no price and routes pricing to a custom quote, with intake sold as its own product (Lead Docket). Litify, SmartAdvocate and CloudLex are quote only too, and Jove, formerly GrowPath, publishes no figure but states the first year is free apart from a fixed implementation fee. For a general practice firm that does not need personal injury depth, Clio and MyCase publish per user list prices.
If what you really want to replace is the intake layer, the usual names are Lead Docket, Law Ruler and Lawmatics, all quote only, with Lawmatics setting a three user minimum on Essential and Premium. None of them, and none of the case platforms above apart from the voice agents inside SmartAdvocate, Litify and CloudLex, holds the conversation with the prospective client on your website. If the bottleneck is response time, or inquiries arrive after everyone has gone home, the alternative is a different kind of product.
- PI case management with a printed price: CasePeer, $130 per user for intake
- Quote only platforms: Filevine, Litify, SmartAdvocate, CloudLex
- Free first year minus implementation: Jove
- Replacing only intake: Lead Docket, Law Ruler or Lawmatics
- The website conversation itself, at any hour: an AI intake agent from $49 a month
Running Consultations with Neos, or instead of it
The most common setup keeps Neos, or keeps Needles while the migration is planned, and puts Consultations at the front door of the website. The prospective client talks to the intake conversation, answers the screening questions your firm defines, uploads photos, a police report or an insurance card, and books a consultation if they fit. The completed intake, answers and documents included, exports into your case system, where your intake team takes over. That gives an Essentials firm screened, booked leads without buying Platinum for the intake automation alone.
Choosing Consultations instead of Neos makes sense for a smaller firm that went shopping mainly to stop losing inquiries, or one below the three user line. The part it needed was the intake conversation, and that goes live the same day without a migration. Solo is $49 a month for one attorney. Practice, at $129 for up to five professionals, adds document collection during intake and qualification rules per practice area. Firm, at $299 for up to twenty, adds voice intake alongside chat and advanced integrations. All three are flat per firm, with no implementation fee.
Every plan is paid by card, monthly with no annual term or once a year at half the monthly price: $288, $768 or $1,788. You can run the intake conversation at the top of this page right now and see exactly what a prospective client sees.
- Alongside Neos: web intake runs first, the record exports to your case system
- Keeps an Essentials firm off Platinum for intake automation alone
- Instead of Neos, if the conversation was the job: from $49 a month
- No per user charge, no three user minimum, no implementation fee
- Live the same day, with your own screening questions

Directory sites list Neos Premium at $139 and NeosAI Platinum at $189 per user a month. Neither figure is on assemblysoftware.com/pricing, so we do not treat them as prices. CasePeer figures are its monthly per user list prices. Vendors change prices without notice, so confirm with the vendor before you sign.

What buyers ask about Neos alternatives
What is the best alternative to Neos?
It depends on the job. For personal injury case management with a published price, CasePeer is the closest match, at $130 per user a month for the tier with intake management. For a configurable platform, Filevine. If web leads wait too long for a person to screen them, Consultations runs the intake conversation itself, from $49 a month flat.
How much does Neos cost per user?
Neos Essentials is $109 per user a month billed yearly, read from assemblysoftware.com/pricing on 30 September 2026. Premium and NeosAI Platinum show no price and ask you to get in touch. Neos is built for firms with 3 or more users, so the smallest Essentials account is about $327 a month.
Who are Neos competitors?
Neos competes with personal injury case management platforms such as CasePeer, Filevine, SmartAdvocate, CloudLex, Litify and Jove (formerly GrowPath), and with general practice tools such as Clio and MyCase. For intake specifically, it competes with Lead Docket, Law Ruler and Lawmatics. Of the plaintiff side platforms, CasePeer is the one that prints every price.
Which Neos plan includes intake automation?
NeosAI Platinum. The comparison table on Assembly's pricing page marks the dynamic intake questionnaire, workflows and process automation, and automated lead emails and texts as included on Platinum and not included on Essentials or Premium. Every tier has intake forms, an intake CRM and lead tracking.
Is Neos good for small law firms?
Neos is built for firms with 3 or more users, and Assembly routes smaller practices to other products, so a solo or two attorney firm cannot buy it. A small firm whose main problem is converting inquiries usually gets more from a focused intake tool with a published price, kept alongside a simpler case system.
Is Neos the same as Needles?
No. Neos is the cloud platform Assembly Software built as the successor to Needles, its long running server based personal injury system, and to Trialworks. Assembly handles migrations from Needles to Neos through a customer success manager, and says most migrations land in 60 to 90 days.
