PracticePanther is cheaper than MyCase at every comparable tier, and it is the cheaper way to get client intake forms: $89 per user a month billed yearly on Business against $100 on MyCase Pro. MyCase is the better buy if you want a named legal CRM for tracking leads, built in AI tools or conflict check tracking. For a five person firm that needs intake, the gap is $660 a year on annual billing and $1,260 on monthly billing. Add trust and operating accounting and PracticePanther Business Pro at $114 beats MyCase Pro plus its $39 accounting add-on by $25 per user a month.

Both pricing pages were read on 24 October 2026, mycase.com/pricing and practicepanther.com/pricing. All figures are USD per user per month. We sell Consultations, an intake and booking product that sits in front of either system, so weigh what we say about intake with that interest in mind.

MyCase vs PracticePanther pricing by tier

TierMyCase, billed yearlyMyCase, monthlyPracticePanther, billed yearlyPracticePanther, monthly
EntryBasic $50$60Solo $49$59
MiddlePro $100$120Essential $69$79
Intake forms includedPro $100$120Business $89$99
TopAdvanced $130$150Business Pro $114$124
Full legal accountingPro plus Accounting, $139$159Business Pro $114$124

The entry prices are a dollar apart, which is why so many comparisons call these two a tie. They are not a tie once you pick the tier that does the job you are buying for. MyCase has three tiers and PracticePanther has four, so the useful comparison is feature to feature, not Basic to Solo. Our legal software pricing guide puts both next to Clio, Smokeball and the other platforms on one table.

Annual billing saves $120 per user a year on every PracticePanther tier. On MyCase it saves $120 on Basic and $240 on Pro and Advanced, so the yearly discount matters more on MyCase, and the monthly gap between the two products is wider than the yearly one.

Which plan includes client intake?

Neither vendor puts intake on its entry plan. On MyCase, Client Intake Forms and Legal CRM arrive together on Pro at $100 billed yearly. MyCase describes the CRM as a way to track, manage and convert more leads with online lead forms and built in, fully connected CRM functionality. On PracticePanther, Intake Forms arrive on Business at $89 billed yearly, with the page saying you can create and request unlimited intake forms from your clients with no integration needed. Business also brings native 2-way texting, unlimited eSignature sends, LEDES billing and an attorney revenue report.

The difference is what sits around the form. MyCase Pro names a lead pipeline. PracticePanther's pricing page lists intake forms and custom fields but no lead CRM item, so a firm that tracks marketing sources and conversion rates should ask PracticePanther to demonstrate how a lead is tracked before it becomes a matter. Our legal CRM software comparison covers what a law firm CRM should do at that stage.

What five and ten users really pay

Firm size and needMyCase per yearPracticePanther per yearDifference
5 users, intake, billed yearly$6,000 (Pro)$5,340 (Business)$660
5 users, intake, billed monthly$7,200 (Pro)$5,940 (Business)$1,260
5 users, intake plus accounting, yearly$8,340 (Pro plus Accounting)$6,840 (Business Pro)$1,500
10 users, intake, billed yearly$12,000 (Pro)$10,680 (Business)$1,320
10 users, top tier, billed yearly$15,600 (Advanced)$13,680 (Business Pro)$1,920

Every figure is per seat, so count everyone who needs a login: attorneys, paralegals, the intake coordinator and the bookkeeper. Per seat pricing is also why the gap grows with headcount. Neither vendor charges less per user as the firm gets bigger on the published tiers.

Where MyCase is worth the extra money

MyCase Pro includes more than intake. Read on 24 October 2026, it adds unlimited eSignature and document generation, automated workflows, 2-way texting with chat and a call log, premium billing and reporting, 70 plus integrations and the 8am IQ writing and document assistant. Advanced adds the 8am IQ case assistant, an OCR discovery assistant with 5,000 pages per user each month, advanced document automation, a desktop drive, split billing, an open API and Conflict Check Tracking.

That last item matters to mid-size firms. PracticePanther does not list conflict checking on its published feature matrix, so a firm that wants conflict tracking inside the practice system has a reason to pay for MyCase Advanced. Payments run through LawPay with no monthly fee on MyCase, and through PantherPayments on PracticePanther. If you are weighing MyCase against Clio instead, our MyCase vs Clio CRM comparison goes through the same CRM question.

Where PracticePanther wins

PracticePanther wins on price and on accounting. Business Pro at $114 billed yearly includes PantherAccounting Plus: operating accounting with a general ledger and chart of accounts, a guided three-way trust reconciliation and expense management. MyCase sells its accounting as a $39 per user add-on on Pro and Advanced. If your firm still reconciles its operating account outside the practice system, software that matches each bank statement to your books can close that gap whichever platform you choose.

Its tiers also let you step up more gradually. Essential at $69 adds custom fields, custom security roles, invoice read alerts and multiple bank accounts without forcing a jump to the intake tier. Live one-on-one trainings scale from one session on Solo to unlimited on the higher tiers. If you are already leaning away from both, our PracticePanther alternatives and MyCase alternatives pages cover the rest of the shortlist, and the new Actionstep pricing and alternatives page covers the quote only option aimed at midsize firms.

PracticePanther pros and cons

  • Pro: cheapest published tier with intake forms in this category, $89 billed yearly.
  • Pro: accounting included on Business Pro at $114.
  • Pro: four tiers, so smaller steps between price points.
  • Con: no lead CRM or conflict checking named on its pricing page.
  • Con: intake forms still wait for a person to read them and reply.

The intake gap neither plan closes

Both products collect an intake form well. Neither one replies to the person who fills it in at 10pm on a Sunday, asks a follow up when the answer is vague or books the consultation for qualified callers. That first response is where most firms lose new matters, and it is the part a practice system is not built to do. Our speed to lead software page sets out what it costs to cover those hours.

Consultations sits in front of MyCase or PracticePanther. An AI conversation on your website asks your qualifying questions, checks the answers against your rules, collects the first documents and books the consultation into the calendar you already use, then hands your team a short brief. It never gives legal advice. It is priced flat per firm: Practice at $129 a month covers up to 5 professionals and Firm at $299 covers up to 20, so it does not add another per seat line to the totals above.
