MyCase Pro is the better buy for a small law firm that wants a CRM with a printed price inside its case system. Clio Grow is the deeper standalone CRM for firms already on Clio Manage or with marketing-heavy intake. MyCase Pro includes Client Intake Forms and Legal CRM at $100 per user a month billed yearly. Clio Grow provides pipeline management, intake forms, follow up and marketing tools, but its price is unpublished. Choose MyCase for a known CRM budget and connected case work. Choose Grow when its dedicated client acquisition tools fit the way your firm brings in matters.
MyCase pricing was read on 23 October 2026. Clio pricing was last confirmed in August 2026 because Clio blocks automated reading. Get a written Clio quote before buying. We sell Consultations, an intake and booking product that sits in front of either system, so weigh our recommendation with that commercial interest in mind.

The useful comparison is MyCase Pro against a Clio package that includes Grow. Comparing Pro with Starter puts a CRM plan beside a plan without one. Our legal CRM software guide explains where lead tracking fits alongside intake and case management.
Which CRM fits the way your firm works?
MyCase describes its legal CRM as a way to track, manage and convert leads with online lead forms and a fully connected system. It manages the intake process from lead to active client. For a firm choosing case software and CRM together, that gives the decision a clear starting point.
Clio separates the jobs. Manage handles case management, billing and trust accounting. Grow handles the client acquisition pipeline, forms, follow up and marketing tools, then connects to Manage. Our Clio Grow vs Clio Manage comparison explains those roles. Ask for a demonstration of your actual intake process before deciding which arrangement fits.
Bring a sample inquiry to that demonstration. Ask the vendor to show where the prospect's answers appear, how staff identify the next action, and what happens when the firm accepts the matter. Then ask what happens when the firm declines it. These are workflow questions to verify, rather than capabilities to assume from a CRM label. The demonstration should make clear what staff still need to do.
For an existing Clio Manage firm, evaluate Grow in the context of the system your team already uses. For a firm choosing both products from scratch, MyCase Pro's published bundle gives you a concrete baseline. Write down the required workflow before comparing optional features, so the buying decision stays tied to your intake process.
MyCase CRM pros and cons
- Pro: the CRM has a printed price on Pro, so you can budget before a sales conversation.
- Pro: lead forms and CRM sit inside the case system and cover the path from lead to active client.
- Pro: Pro also includes automated workflows, unlimited eSignature and document generation, and 2-way texting.
- Con: Basic includes contact management but excludes Client Intake Forms and Legal CRM.
- Con: CRM pricing is per user, so the firm's seat count affects the subscription.
- Con: a firm seeking a dedicated marketing CRM should compare Grow's pipeline and marketing tools directly with MyCase's intake workflow.
Clio CRM pros and cons
- Pro: Grow is a dedicated intake and CRM product with pipeline, forms, follow up and marketing tools.
- Pro: it connects to Clio Manage, making it a logical CRM choice for firms already using Manage.
- Pro: Grow can be bundled in Elite or Elite Work, or added to Core or Signature.
- Con: neither the Grow add-on nor the Elite plans have a published price.
- Con: Starter excludes Grow, so the advertised entry price does not buy the CRM.
- Con: a comparison requires a written quote for the complete Manage and Grow package.
MyCase vs Clio pricing by plan
MyCase publishes both billing options. The yearly rate is a monthly equivalent with annual billing. Its pricing page says yearly billing saves up to 16%. The MyCase pricing breakdown covers the tiers, while our Clio pricing guide explains the limits of Clio's public figures.
| Plan | Per user monthly equivalent billed yearly | Per user billed monthly | CRM included |
|---|---|---|---|
| MyCase Basic | $50 | $60 | No |
| MyCase Pro | $100 | $120 | Yes |
| MyCase Advanced | $130 | $150 | Yes |
| Clio Starter/EasyStart | Published entry figure from $49 per user a month, confirm billing terms | Not separately published | No |
| Clio Core or Signature plus Grow | Written quote required | Written quote required | With Grow add-on |
| Clio Elite or Elite Work | Not published | Not published | Grow bundled |
Basic covers case and contact management, time entry, online payments with next-day deposits, customizable reporting, unlimited document storage and a limited client portal. Pro adds the CRM alongside its document, workflow and communication features, premium billing, the 8am IQ writing and document assistant, and 70+ integrations.
Advanced adds the 8am IQ Case Assistant, Discovery Assistant with OCR, advanced document automation, Desktop Drive, Conflict Check Tracking, split billing and Open API. Those features may justify Advanced for your work, but Pro already contains the CRM. MyCase Accounting is an add-on at $39 per user a month for Pro and Advanced. LawPay Payments has a $0 monthly fee with processing rates applying.
What a five lawyer firm pays
For a five lawyer firm buying five user subscriptions, MyCase Pro costs $500 a month on annual billing, or $6,000 a year. Paying month to month brings the annual total to $7,200. Count any additional staff who need subscriptions before treating that as your firm's final budget.
| Five users | Monthly equivalent | Annual total | CRM status |
|---|---|---|---|
| MyCase Pro billed yearly | $500 | $6,000 | Included |
| MyCase Pro month to month | At $120 per user | $7,200 | Included |
| MyCase Advanced billed yearly | $650 | $7,800 | Included |
| Clio Starter at its published floor | $245 | $2,940 | Excluded |
| Clio with Grow | Unpublished | Unpublished | Included in quoted package |
Any Clio plan with Grow costs more than the Starter floor by an unpublished amount. Ask for the plan name, Grow inclusion, billing term and complete seat count in writing. Directory estimates are not a substitute for that quote. Public figures cannot establish whether Clio with CRM costs less than MyCase Pro.
Conflict checks and screening a business inquiry
CRM qualification and a conflict decision serve different purposes. MyCase lists Conflict Check Tracking on Advanced. Do not assume the Pro CRM includes that Advanced feature, or that a completed intake form clears a matter for acceptance. Our conflict check software guide discusses the review around incoming matters.
For a prospective business client, your process may also require staff to run a background check on the company before the attorney decides whether to accept the engagement. Treat that research as a separate task from moving a lead through a CRM pipeline. Ask each vendor to demonstrate how your team would record its review.
The first conversation still needs an answer
Both CRMs record and track a lead someone already handled. Neither runs the first conversation with an inquiry at 9 pm. A pipeline entry can help staff organize follow up, but it does not itself ask the firm's qualifying questions while the person is on the website.
Consultations answers the website inquiry in a conversation, asks your firm's qualifying questions, screens the matter, books qualified people into the calendar and sends a brief. It sits in front of MyCase or Clio and does intake and booking only. It never gives legal advice. Keep the attorney's acceptance decision separate from the booking.
Solo costs $49 a month for 1 professional, Practice costs $129 a month for up to 5, and Firm costs $299 a month for up to 20. Each is a flat fee per firm with no per-seat fee. Compare the current options on our Consultations pricing page.
If you are choosing the underlying case system too, read our MyCase alternatives comparison. Immigration firms can also use Docketwise vs MyCase pricing to frame that separate decision. MyCase belongs to 8am, the same family as LawPay, CasePeer and Docketwise.
Frequently asked questions
Is MyCase cheaper than Clio?
MyCase is not cheaper at the published entry price, and a CRM price comparison requires a Clio quote. MyCase Basic is $50 per user a month billed yearly against Clio's $49 floor. MyCase Pro includes CRM at $100, while Clio publishes no price for Grow or the plans bundling it.
Compare the same seat count, billing term and required features. Clio Starter is a useful cost floor, but it cannot supply Grow.
Does MyCase have a CRM?
Yes, MyCase includes Client Intake Forms and Legal CRM on Pro and Advanced, with Pro starting at $100 per user a month billed yearly or $120 monthly. The CRM uses online lead forms and a built-in, fully connected system to manage intake from a lead to an active client.
Basic's contact management is not the CRM package. Start your evaluation with Pro if lead intake is a requirement.
Is Clio Grow included in Clio Manage?
Clio Grow is not included with every Clio Manage plan. It is bundled in Elite and Elite Work, sold as an add-on for Core and Signature, and absent from Starter. Neither the Elite plans nor the Grow add-on have a published price, so request the complete package in writing.
Those plan facts were last confirmed in August 2026. Ask Clio to confirm Grow inclusion and current terms before signing.
Which is better for a small law firm, MyCase or Clio?
MyCase Pro is the better buy for a small firm seeking CRM inside its case system at a printed price. Clio Grow is the better fit when the firm already runs Clio Manage or needs a deeper standalone CRM for marketing-heavy intake, subject to an acceptable written price quote.
Test your actual lead qualification and follow up process during the demonstration. A familiar workflow matters alongside the subscription price.
Is MyCase or Clio better for client intake?
MyCase is better for intake tied to a case system at a published price, while Clio Grow is better for a dedicated pipeline with follow up and marketing tools. Neither CRM runs the initial website conversation at 9 pm, so evaluate that first response separately from lead tracking features.
Use Consultations ahead of either system when you need a conversation that screens an inquiry, books qualified people and sends your team a brief.
